As luck ... fate ... and providence would have it, 2019 marked Colgate's 200th anniversary, and to honor that occasion Colgate was having an all class reunion. All alumni, no matter what graduation year, were invited to attend.

An often-heard university statistic is that 20% of all Colgate students meet their future partners at Colgate. Having missed that opportunity as a student, Dave saw the potential for a second bite at that apple with this all class reunion. He emailed the reunion organizers and suggested a single's get together as part of the festivities. They agreed and on June 1, 2019, Dave and Jill met at the first-ever singles event held at a Colgate reunion.

After just a few minutes of conversation, they could not believe what they were hearing:

Dave: "You live in Summit, NJ?!!"

Jill: "You work at Kent Place, in Summit, NJ?!!

Dave: "We should meet for drinks!!"

And so they did. They quickly discovered that they had lots more in common than just proximity...they realized that they were soulmates.
